The Cape Town International Boat Show, ran from 5-7 October 2007, has take up the entire newly extended CTICC, as well as the whole F spine at the V & A Waterfront. The show was set to increase in size again this year, with an increase in exhibitors from 150 to 185 plus. The show saw a successful amount of 15420 visitors.


CTBi participated in the ABSA National Boat Show.  We were received positively at the show and attracted many curious individuals to our stand at the show.
The boat show was on from the 17 – 19 August.  CTBi also walked away with a certificate of appreciation for partaking in the event.

The first ever African Boating Conference hit the shores of Cape Town this month and has been hailed as a great success. With over 80 attendees, predominantly from the industry as well as government departments, the event consisted of a full day’s worth of workshops and interactive sessions.

The Cape Town International Boat Show, ran from 3-5 October 2008, at the CTICC, as well as the whole F spine at the V & A Waterfront. Show organisers claim the 2008 boat show to be a record in show visitors.

The CTBi AGM was hosted at the Radisson Hotel in Granger Bay on 14 May 2008.
The evening was a great success and the AGM was attended by a variety of industry members.

CTBI State of the Industry breakfast on Saturday, 04 October 2008, which coincides with the 8th annual Cape Town International Boat Show (CTIBS).

SABBC attended the Miami Boat Show from the 15th to the 19th of February 2007.

FET, False Bay College and Industry Association Cape Town Boatbuilding and Technology Initiative saw the culmination of month’s efforts come to conclusion at the official lunch of the new boatbuilding academy in Westlake business Park.

The launch was attended by dignitary government stakeholder’s and industry experts. The event was hosted in the new fully equipped Boatbuilding Academy facility on 23 October 2008.

The Annual South African Boating Awards took place this month at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town. Presented by the Cape Town Boatbuilding and Technology Initiative (CTBi), in partnership with SABBEX, these awards, now in their third year, are designed to recognise innovation, exacting standards and a commitment to excellence within the boatbuilding and boating industry.
